our driver and licensed guide will meet you in front of Istanbul''s port passenger Terminal or at the Lobby of your hotel. You''ll drive along the old city walls and under the ancient Roman aqueduct on the way to view the best of Istanbul''s stunning architecture and attractions. The impressive Roman Hippodrome was once used for chariot races and today is your first stop.

You visit the beautiful Blue Mosque which is named for the vivid Iznik tiles lining its interior. With the full day tour you are certain to hear the calls to prayer as they echo throughout the city center five times a day.

Next you will walk through the amazing Topkapi Palace.This large complex of buildings was the official residence of the Ottoman Sultans and includes the courts, pavilions, mosques, fountains and a treasury. In the Sultan''s chapel you can hear the Imam reading continually from the Koran.

After a stop for lunch you visit the jewel in Turkey''s Byzantine crown, the Museum of St. Sophia(Haghia Sophia).This splendid Church of Divine Wisdom was originally built in the 4th century AD as a Christian Basilica and later was converted to a Mosque. It was lovingly restored in the 1900s, reflecting the true history of this glorious city astride two continents.

Later this afternoon you''ll visit the Grand Bazaar which houses more than 4,000 stalls selling local goods. Or if you prefer, you can request to visit the Egyptian Spice Market.

Monday Notes:St. Sophia Church is closed on Mondays. If your tour is on Monday you will be taken to the Church of Chora instead, which is equally famous for its Byzantine mosaics and frescoes.

Tuesday Notes:The Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays. If your tour is on Tuesday you will instead be taken to the Ottoman Dolmabahce Palace decorated with priceless carpets, chandeliers and paintings.

Wonderfull Excursion in Istanbul

We were group of 6 people and booked One Day Private shore Excursion in istanbul with Mr.Mustafa Ceviz. We have seen most of the main attractions like Hagia Sophia,Blue Mosque,Hippodrome,Topkapı palace,Grand Bazaar. Private Driver/Guided tour Highlights Istanbul October 2013

As part of our Eastern Mediterranean cruise we stopped off at Istanbul. We pre booked a private tour for four to cover the highlights of Istanbul with The Land of Civilizations Travel. Our guide and driver was excellent. We had a full day excursion. It was an excellent day and because we were a small party we were able to see many places of interest with ease and comfort. Mustaf's knowledge and expertise was first class and his command of the English language was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending Mustafa and his company to tourist wanting an informative value for money tour.

Great Experience!

I spent a day in Istanbul with my family of 4 and my 2 grandparents in late November of 2013. We knew going into the city that there was going to be too much to see in one day. This being said, the driver fit in all of our requests and we still got back to the ship on time, even though one of the requests (the trans-continental subway) was completely out of the way of the regular tours. The driver was extremely nice and definitely knew his stuff. He took us to Suleiman's Mosque, Hagia Sofia, the trans-continental subway, the Grand Bazaar, the Sultan's Palace, and brought us to the outside of the Blue Mosque. He gave us a brief overview of the history of each place and went into detail when he was prompted to. When we went to the Grand Bazaar, he made sure that we would not get lost by teaching us how to navigate it easily. All in all, we had a fantastic time, and Istanbul lived up to our expectations!

A Terrific Experience

We just returned from a week in Istanbul. There were six of us in our group. We had a marvelous time, made so much so by us fortuitously booking our tours through Mr. Ceviz, Land of Civilizations Travel. His service was caring and impeccable. Our tours were prompt and efficiently handled, tour guides were engaging and knowledgeable, and we came away with a warm feel for the for Istanbul and Ephesus. Mr. Ceviz met us personally to review our tours (we did daily tours including the morning Bosphorus cruise, Ephesus Day Trip, Istanbul Private Tour, and Princess Island Tour). All were splendid.
